WARDED TO H7 GIRLSI keep thinking back to first year, I suppose that’s normal for seventh years. It’s normal to look back on things. I remember the first time I set foot in our dorms; I can recall thinking that Hannah was the nicest person I’d ever met. And that Sally-Anne looked like she’d stepped out of a fashion magazine; I can remember thinking that Eloise was so quiet. And Susan, I thought you were one of the most genuinely kind people I’d ever met. So many people are kind on occasion or kind when it suits them but you’re nice to everyone. I don’t know what my point is here but I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately. I feel as though I should be wiser or at least more aware at this point in my life, but I honestly don’t feel any different than I did back in first year. I don’t think I say things as often as I should. All the sweets in the world couldn’t improve this year any, and I just want you all to know that I appreciate all of you so much even I don’t say it all that often.

WARDED TO STEPHENDid you read Daphne’s entry? I made it halfway to Professor Sprout’s office before I realized that she probably wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. I feel like I should tell her anyway. But it probably wouldn’t change anything would it? That’s what bothers me the most.
I don’t think I want to do this anymore. It was foolish of me to focus on the idea of getting some of the clubs back. It doesn’t seem as important as it did, not when I read some of those comments. It was foolish to try and chase after minor details when the big picture is getting so – sending people to detention when they haven’t done anything. That can’t happen.

I thought we’d moved on from the constant graffiti in the fourth floor loo but apparently I was wrong. I highly doubt Professor Carrow does not eat first years. If first years were going missing people would notice. I realize that it was probably a joke but I don’t find cannibalism very humorous.

WARDED TO ERNIEI realize that some sort of explanation for the I.S. thing is long overdue but none of my drafts have sounded right. Do you ever make a pro's and con's list and really think something out and even though the solution is really clear it still doesn't feel like the right decision? But you go with it anyway because pro's and con's lists work for a reason. And the list would have worked but then Tuesday happened and now there are things that I can't take into account because it's too late. No matter what I try this year nothing works. It's all completely backwards. I'm not sure what I'm trying to ask but you always make sense. I just don't know how to word this.

New Years Eve has always seemed like the most useless of all of the major holidays. It never lives up to the hype. Sure it’s the start of a new year, people make resolutions, and drink but you can do that any time. And once you get past a certain age staying up until midnight kind of loses that special appeal that it once had. I don’t know where I’m going with this, Happy Almost New Year – I suppose.

WARDED TO H7She can’t just say things like that and get away with it. There was nothing wrong with our previous administrations. She’s insulted all of our other professors who have been here since our first year. All of whom are better teachers than she’ll ever be. As though it wasn’t already bad enough that she terrifies poor Professor Babbling on a daily basis. And I refuse to believe that Justin stole magic, or ever committed any crime worthy of Azkaban.
I was looking forward to the end of term and to the Snowglobe Soiree if only for the food, but we’ll just have to come back to all of this in January. I don’t want to complain because I know it could be worse and I know that it is much worse for a lot of people right now. I don’t know. END WARD
I wish she’d stop ruining breakfast.
